About the Daycare
Our Philosophy
The Service of the Early Childhood Center is a ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church and an extension of Trinity Lutheran School. The Childhood Center provides childcare in a safe, healthy and Christian environment. It is our goal to promote a relaxing and enjoyable place for children to stay while providing experiences that encourage intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual and physical development.
Registration & Enrollment
A registration form and medical form must be completed prior to enrollment. A non-refundable $25.00 registration fee is required to register one child. The registration fee for families with multiple children registered in our facility is $50.00. A registration fee is assessed each school year and each summer session.
Emergency Information
Medical forms and emergency contact forms are required at registration. These forms must include parents' home and work numbers, along with other emergency contacts. PLEASE KEEP THESE FORMS UPDATED.
If emergency care is needed, the staff will call 911. The parents will be immediately notified. All staff members are current in their CPR training.
Parents will be immediately notified of illness, accident, or injury.
Communication
We encourage parent involvement. Family interest and involvement is an integral part of learning and growing. We have an open-door policy, and the directors are available to discuss problems/concerns with parents as needed.
We will publish a monthly newsletter advising parents of the programs being discussed during the month. We will also publish a weekly newsletter reminding parents of events.
Disciplinary Policy
Our program offers many choices of challenging and relaxing activities presenting a well-rounded variety so that children do not become bored, restless, or frustrated. This motivates and stimulates children keeping them interested and attentive. The staff communicates proper behavior and their expectations of the children making them aware of the guidelines to be followed; therefore, discipline is rarely required. If a child is not behaving, his/her attention will be directed to another activity, which will in most cases eliminate the need for discipline.
If discipline is required, the child may be removed from the other children for a short time. If the problem continues, the child may be taken to the director or school principal. If the child does not respond to standard discipline procedures, the teacher, director, principal, and parents will discuss the problem and come to a resolution. Communication between parents and teachers regarding progress will be maintained. Failure to follow through with the resolution or chronic misbehavior that may result in the injury of other children or teachers will be sufficient reason to discharge the child.
Personal Belongings
The center is equipped with a multitude of activities for all the children. Children may bring a blanket and pillow for naptime. Children also should bring an extra pair of clothes to be kept at the center. ALL BELONGINGS SHOULD HAVE THE CHILD'S NAME CLEARLY WRITTEN ON THEM.
