Board Of Elders
The Board of Elders is responsible for all matters pertaining to the spiritual life of the congregation and the spiritual welfare of its individual members, and shall observe strict confidentiality in the private matters under consideration by the board. In a spirit of Christian love, and with the assistance of the pastor(s), members of the board shall personally and patiently admonish those who neglect the Word of God and the Sacrament of Holy Communion, or who err in Christian doctrine or conduct. The Board of Elders recommends to the Church Council and the Voters Assembly the appropriate action regarding admission to or termination of communicant membership The Board of Elders advises and assists the pastor(s) in the performance of their ministry. In consultation with the pastor(s), the Board of Elders sees that orderly and meaningful services are conducted. This includes the responsibility for establishing the schedule of services and assisting the pastor(s) in arranging for special services, special music and guest speakers. The Board of Elders encourages and enlists the support of other boards, organizations and members in accomplishing the purpose of the congregation.
